TOPS High Street Stores has obviously done some research into Worcester's past.
That is why the developer has decided the Lychgate name should not be dropped from the shopping centre after all.
But there is still more homework to do, if a letter from company chairman Everard Goodman is anything to go by.
The letter, sent to Mayor of Worcester Robert Rowden, spells Lychgate as "Lytchgate".
He said: "It is our intention the notable historical Lytchgate reference will be continued at the site, particularly at the entrance facing the Cathedral.
"The original litch gate had a pedestrian access to and from the Cathedral and this will indeed be re-instated at the Pump Street entrance also."
