A WORCESTER primary school wants permission to keep a mobile classroom it has been using for seven years.
But city planners have recommended that the classroom, which Nunnery Wood Primary School uses as a language development unit, be removed.
Temporary permission, for five years, was granted for the double classroom in September 1995, this was renewed for a further three years in February, 2000.
However, the school has now applied for a further extension to the planning permission.
Prominent
It is in a good state of repair but in a prominent position at the end of the school driveway, on Prestwich Avenue.
Worcester City Council's planning committee has been asked to comment on the proposal, but Worcestershire County Council will take the final decision.
Director of development services, Stuart McNidder, said no information had been provided about the future use or siting of the building, or any plans to replace it with a permanent building.
"In the absence of any future programme of works, I consider that it would be inappropriate to renew this expired temporary permission," he said.
The planning committee will discuss the proposals when it meets tomorrow.
