ENTRIES have been coming in from a wide variety of clubs and organisations for the cash on offer in our Making a Difference campaign.

The Making a Difference campaign is run by Worcester Round Table in conjunction with the Evening News and each month will give away £1,000 to local good causes.

It could be anything from new tents for a local Scout group to building materials for a social club.

So far, entries have represented all kinds of organisations since the campaign was launched last Wednesday.

"Applications have come in from organisations for the very young to the elderly," said Sarah Taylor, promotions executive at the Evening News.

"We are very pleased with the response so far. They are all very worthy local causes and people have taken a lot of time and effort to put their case why their organisation deserves some of the money we are offering."

The Making a Difference campaign will run until the end of the year, with a total of £10,000 up for grabs.

Each month a panel of judges will assess the entries and decide which group - or groups - to award the money to.

The money has come from events organised by Worcester Round Table last year, including the Bonfire Night fireworks on Pitchcroft racecourse, the selling of hot roasted chestnuts at the annual Victorian Christmas Fayre and a charity golf day in September.

To apply for a share of the cash, fill in the coupon on this page and, on a separate piece of paper, write 200-500 words saying why your organisation needs the money and what, specifically, it would be spent on. Typewritten entries are preferred.

Send applications to Sarah Taylor, Evening News, Berrow's House, Hylton Road, Worcester, WR2 5JX.

Applications for March's £1,000 must be received no later than 5pm on Monday, March 31.
