ENTHUSIASTIC and energetic teams from Worcestershire companies are wanted to take part in a charity event at Cirencester next month.
Teams of 10 can take part in the Cobalt Company Marathon Challenge, with each member running 2.6 miles and collectively aiming to beat the record times for a full marathon of 26.2 miles.
The men's marathon record time, set by Khalid Khannouchi, currently stands at 2hrs 5 mins 38 secs, while the women's record set by Paula Radcliffe is 2hrs 17mins 18secs.
Last year's company marathon attracted a record 30 teams and was won by Abbey Business Equipment, with a time of 2hrs 23mins 25secs.
The challenge began 15 years ago and the event has raised more than £100,000 for the Cobalt Appeal's Crack Cancer Campaign, helping the charity to buy radiotherapy machines, diagnostic scanners and screening equipment for the benefit of county patients.
For entry forms, call race co-ordinator Allan Roseberry on 01242 523710.
