BROMSGROVE Hockey Club Men's First XI did their survival hopes little good last Saturday when they lost 2-1 at rivals Redditch.
The result keeps Julian Court's side hovering above the West Midlands division one drop zone with one game to go at home to Barlaston this Saturday.
Bromsgrove took the lead through Clive Robinson with a good finish after the goalkeeper had saved Ash Clarke's initial shot.
Redditch came back strongly and scored an equaliser after a scramble on the goal line to leave the scores level at half time.
Both teams cancelled each other out in the second half and neither goalkeeper was forced into a save.
But Bromsgrove got caught in possession on the halfway line with most of the team stranded up field, allowing Redditch to breakaway to slot a winner passed Neil Evans.
Redditch were reduced to ten men when they had a player sin-binned, leaving the hosts exposed to Bromsgrove pressure.
