WORKMEN have been getting unique views of Redditch as progress on the multi-million pound NEW College development continues.
The building, which will be largely glass and steel, is now taking shape and views from the upper floors reveal both the extent of the development and its new position overlooking Peakman Street.
The steel skeleton of the building has been complete for a while and now floors, staircases and some of the glass walls, a particular feature of the design of the new building, are being put in place.
Another feature will be a glass-covered piazza and the steelwork for its canopy can be seen from Victoria Street.
College chiefs are delighted with the progress of the development, due to be completed in the autumn, which is set to be one of the most modern educational facilities in the country.
Principal Neil Bromley said: "We're looking forward to having the majority of the new facilities available when we welcome new students in September."
The new building will house state-of-the-art learning resource centres, a new training restaurant, caf-bar and hairdressing and beauty therapy salons.
