WOOTTON Wawen Primary School has been given £10,000 to put on an after-school club - creating at least three part-time jobs.
The school was included in Warwickshire's cash bid for new school clubs after education chiefs put forward a £200,000 proposal for the whole county.
The money was awarded by the Government New Opportunities Fund (NOF) to improve out-of-school care options.
Teresa Maillinson, of the school's parent committee who put the bid forward to the county, said: "The school already has a before-school club and there is a demand for an after-school facility as well. It's much needed.
"The new after-school club will be opened as soon as possible."
County Education Officer Eric Wood said: "Over recent years, this new fund-raising has helped to transform childcare opportunities for families in Warwickshire.
"Out of hours clubs offer excellent opportunities to children and provide an invaluable, quality service to parents.
"More new funding can only continue to benefit our schools and communities."
The next consortium bid for clubs, amounting to £132,000, was presented last Wednesday and the result will be announced in June.
