PERRYWINKLE the poorly puss is on the road to recovery thanks to kind donations from animal lovers and a Spa taxi firm.
The cat is one of many unwanted pets cared for by Danemere Animal Rescue which recently called on Droitwich Spa Advertiser readers to help its never ending battle for funds.
Blue Door Taxi boss Paul Rudge, based at Berry Hill Industrial Estate, was one of the many generous residents who came forward.
He stumped up £100, which has helped the Tibberton animal haven pay for Perrywinkle to have a vital operation.
The middle-aged feline was hit by a car and has had extensive surgery on his pelvis.
Danemere supervisor David Lannie expects the male cat to make a 95 per cent recovery and is now seeking a new home for him.
He said the Advertiser appeal attracted £500 worth of donations and some offers of sponsorship.
"However the drain on our funds is never ending and we need at least another £1,000 to help us out of this crisis," added David. "I want to thank everyone who has come forward and offered support."
The rescue centre is also appealing for old blankets. If you can help, please call Danemere on 01905 345655.
