BUDDING disc jockeys from Droitwich Spa are taking to the airwaves.
Twelve students from the town's Briar Mill high school are set to make their broadcasting debuts.
For a week, beginning on Monday, March 17, pupils from years ten to 13 are presenting the breakfast and mid-morning show on Youthcomm Radio.
The station, based in Worcester's City Youth Centre, usually broadcasts via the Internet but until March 30, residents can tune into 105.2 FM.
Town students have bagged the prestigious breakfast show slot and will also continue with the mid-morning show, broadcasting a mixture of music, news and views until noon.
They have already received studio training and the school's citizenship co-ordinator, Margaret Brown, said they have a wonderful opportunity.
"It gives a real head start for any students who want to try and make their way in the competitive world of working in the media," she told the Advertiser.
"I do hope as many people as possible will tune in, although not while they are supposed to be doing maths."
Youthcomm has no set music policy, allowing teenagers to reflect their own tastes and interests.
