AN animal angel in Droitwich Spa could be rewarded for her tireless dedication to all creatures great and small.
Caring veterinary nurse Mary Dallow has been nominated for the Petplan awards and is one of four finalists in the Vet Nurse of the Year category.
The Claines resident is well-known for dedicating hours of her own time to care for distressed domestic and wild animals.
Receptionist Jackie Furby works with Mary at Townsend Veterinary Practice, in North Street, and says her colleague 'runs herself ragged for animals'.
Jackie added: "Mary will collect pets belonging to elderly owners who cannot drive, she nurses wild animals at home and regularly travels to the Vale of Evesham to release them back into the wild. She's an angel."
Modest Mary, who was nominated by clients, claims all the staff at Townsend practice are just as kind and caring.
She told the Advertiser: "I do feel honoured and people have been extremely generous with their comments."
The animal expert will find out whether she has won on Thursday April, 3, when a glittering ceremony is held at the Burlington Hotel, in Birmingham.
