FIVE times Embassy World Darts champion Eric Bristow has been beaten at his own game by a Droitwich Spa player.
Steve Webb defeated the Crafty Cockney at the Doverdale Arms, in Stalls Farm Road, on Wednesday, March 5.
Webb, who plays in the Droitwich Spa Darts League, came out on top in one 801 leg match.
Pub assistant manager Lee Bryant said some other players gave Bristow, world champion in 1984, 85 and 86, a run for his money but could not hit their doubles.
But he admitted Bristow was not at his best, having stumbled against an opponent for the first time on his six-week tour, although Steve was a worthy winner.
"Eric took the microphone afterwards and apologised for not playing as well as he could. It was a fantastic evening and the place was chock-a-block."
