Furnace Sports 2 Springvale 2
LATE penalties robbed Springvale of what would have been a welcome and deserved Kidderminster League Premier Division away win against mid-table rivals Furnace Sports.
The visitors worked hard and deservedly took the lead after 20 minutes when John Dolphin made ground down the right. Furnace failed to clear his cross and Chris Hawkes poked the ball home.
After the break Vale were forced to defend but organised themselves well and made their opponents pay for pushing up when Mark Downes sent in a dipping 35 yarder which rebounded off the bar, Dunlop supporting the break to slide home from close range.
Vale were cruising to victory when Chris Bunn made a rash challenge in his own box, Furnace converting the spot kick.
With time running out James Didlick appeared to win the ball with a fair challenge, but although Vale disputed the resulting penalty, Furnace gratefully slotted home to share the points.
