A STUDLEY carpenter who was exposed to asbestos in the 1960s and 1970s died as a result, a coroner's inquest heard last week.
Coroner Victor Round said Alan Greasley, aged 53, of Grendon Close, died on January 8 from a form of lung cancer associated with asbestos exposure.
Mr Round said the carpenter, who was single, had worked on schools and boiler houses more than 30 years ago and he would have been exposed to the lethal form of insulation.
Pathologist Dr George Kondratowicz had found particles of asbestos in Mr Greasley's lungs.
Mr Round recorded a verdict of death from industrial disease.
