REDDITCH people are living in a county which rates appallingly when it comes to education and the arts, according to a national magazine.
Country Life also said Worcestershire really lacked outstanding pubs, national trust sites and sport and placed almost no value in its landscape.
The magazine talked to experts in different fields and gleaned figures and facts from organisations and publications such as the Council for the Protection of Rural England and the Good Pub Guide.
Worcestershire came in 28th position with 41 out of 100 points, Devon was first and Staffordshire last at 37th.
Out of 10, the county scored four for average property price, four for its county council, zero for education, three for sunshine hours, eight for tranquillity, two for wildlife diversity and six for housing projection.
It received nine for burglary statistics, one for landscape value, one for National Trust sites, two for sport, zero for the arts and one for outstanding pubs.
