VISITORS to Worcestershire Royal Hospital would have thought twice about lighting up on National No Smoking Day yesterday.
The hospital's main entrance was decorated with displays warning of the health dangers of the weed.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust teamed up with the Smoking Advisory Service to provide warnings and give advice on how to kick the habit.
Impact
The Trust is keen to promote the benefits of giving up smoking, under the banner of "Sick of Smoking."
"If the person is able to stop smoking this will have a bigger impact on the management of their illness than any medical treatment we can give," said Chris Jordan, respiratory nurse specialist at the hospital.
"It would be even better if people could quit smoking before the damage is done and breathlessness becomes a problem."
