Pershore 5, Aston University 0
ALTHOUGH the scoreline shows an emphatic win for Pershore, they were somewhat flattered following a disjointed performance in their penultimate DTZ League match of the season.
The hosts started off in confident mood and created several chances that they failed to convert - Dale-Smith in particular being a major culprit missing an open goal from three yards.
Eventually, they converted a short corner, but were then put under pressure by the visitors and were fortunate to go in ahead at half-time.
Aston continued to worry the home defence and it wasn't until midway through the second half that Dale-Smith got his second, this time firing home from the edge of the circle.
This disheartened the students and Whiting completed a hat-trick in the final ten minutes of the game including a well-worked short corner move.
Pershore III 2, Bloxwich III 2
PERSHORE started strongly and soon took the lead as Ingram continued his rich vein of form in front of goal.
They quickly doubled their lead, as Emsley's pace and determination set up Mears for a well-struck shot from the edge of the circle.
Changes in Pershore ranks gave the visitors the opportunity to get back into the game and Graham in goal was put under severe pressure.
Moreby, Howell and Taylor came to his rescue and it came as no surprise when Bloxwich scored before the break.
The second half was evenly matched as Bloxwich kept up their efforts for an equaliser and Pershore made several good chances of their own.
Eventually, a misplaced pass in midfield gave the opposition centre forward an opportunity he didn't spurn and the game ended in a draw which was a fair result on the day.
