Bretforton Ladies 4, Chippenham 0
ON a wet and windy day Bret-forton made the breakthrough in Saturday's league game after 15 minutes.
The visitors dominated play and created a number of openings with player of the match Lisa Workman playing well down the right and causing Chippenham a number of problems.
It was Gilly Wright who picked up the ball in midfield. She ran into the D drew the goalkeeper out of position, then slipped the ball to Andrea Cole who hit the ball into the open goal.
Following a goalmouth scramble with the goalkeeper on the ground and the ball trapped beneath her, the villagers were awarded a short corner.
Sophie Corbett struck a fierce shot at goal which Wright managed to deflect but it flew agonisingly wide of a post.
Despite a number of chances the score remained the same at the interval but Bretforton started the second half in similar vein.
Deb Slatter's excellent run saw her shot blocked but Cole was on hand to snap up the rebound and stroke it into the net.
Corbett and Sarah Adams were instrumental in controlling midfield and it was the latter on one of her solo runs who rounded a number of players to get into the D and her flicked shot was deflected into the goal by a defender.
The final goal came from a short corner with an excellent routine that saw Jane Wheeler slipping the ball to Corbett who, with pinpoint accuracy, fired the ball into the corner.
The match ball was sponsored by C C Corbett.

Bretforton II 1, Dursley 2
THE opening goal arrived when Dursley were a player short as Julie Hall lifted the ball over the goalkeeper.
The visitors hit back after the interval and an unmarked forward shot past a despairing Fiona Jordan.
Their determination again shone through as Bretforton conceded a second following a short corner - the defeat was a setback to the village side's hopes of earning promotion.
Two Severn League second division games remain for the second-placed side and they must win both to stay in the hunt. It's East Glos away at St Edward's School in Chelte-nham on Saturday.
Liz Murray-White was voted player of the match last weekend in a game sponsored by the Professional Gardening Shop.

CAMPDEN were slow to get started in Sunday's friendly on grass and found themselves trailing 2-0 after 15 minutes.
Sarah Bragg then got her sights adjusted after missing several chances and her brace brought the sides level.
Kate Henderson then gave Campden the lead with a shot from a narrow angle and two more goals from Bragg after the restart settled the honours in favour of the visitors who had goalkeeper Kim Hallam to thank for a string of fine stops.
