WORCESTERSHIRE commuters are facing travel chaos unless guards and train bosses can reach agreement tomorrow.
The guards are threatening to walk out following a dispute over their safety role.
The Rail Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) met on Tuesday to discuss dates for action, after its members voted two-to-one in favour of strikes.
But any action is delayed until further talks take place tomorrow.
"No strike action will be held until talks with train companies at the end of the week," said a spokesman for Virgin.
"Virgin is ready to talk to the union."
Central Trains, which operates in the region, was one of the train companies to record a "yes" vote, with 73 per cent of guards in favour of strike action.
A spokesman for RMT said that if a decision was not reached tomorrow, another meeting would take place next Tuesday and a strike would begin.
