Alvechurch 1 Feckenham 1
PROMOTION hopefuls Alvechurch failed to gain vengeance against lowly Feckenham in an emotionally charged derby.
Feckenham, who hammered Church 4-1 earlier in the season, held on to grab a point at Lye Meadow after a shaky start.
Church hitman Brett Skinner put the hosts ahead with just two minutes on the clock.
A superb ball volleyed through the Feckenham back line was picked up by Skinner who blasted it past Millers keeper Dave Inman.
It was Inman's heroics which kept the scoreline respectable before an equaliser on the half hour.
Andy Grubb flicked a header just under Andy Harper's bar after a first time Darren Tarver cross.
Church should have had the game wrapped up by half time with Liam O'Shea rounding Inman on 18 minutes only to be denied by Justin Dankenbring's goalline clearance.
Three minutes before the break O'Shea had a free header well saved by Inman who went on to deny Keith Rostill in injury time.
Feckenham were denied by a linesman's flag on 65 minutes before Inman went onto deny O'Shea with two more top class saves.
Alvechurch's evening was summed up when a first time Skinner cross to an unmarked Adam Ryder, six yards out, was headed wildly over the bar.
