BOXING fans had a chance to size up two ex-champs when the duo dropped into a Stourport pub for lunch.
Former world middleweight champion Richie Woodhall and one-time undisputed world welterweight champion John H Stracey signed autographs and chatted to about 20 fans in the Kings Arms in Redhouse Road.
The pair - who are both also former Olympic fighters - stopped off en route to a charity event in Birmingham organised by Stourport-based journalist and secretary of the Midlands Ex-Boxers' Association Jerry Hjelter.
"Word had got round they were popping in there for a meal," said Mr Hjelter, of Abberley Avenue, who accompanied the boxers.
"They were world champions but they are nice guys as well - very, very approachable."
The charity bash raised more than £1,000 for the association and a scheme to help youngsters stay out of trouble by taking up boxing.
Woodhall, 33 - now a television commentator - retired last year due to a back injury while 53-year-old Stracey hung up his gloves in the late 70s.
