THE successful stage adaptation of Bill Bryson's best-selling book Notes from a Small Island stops off at Forum Theatre, Malvern on Thursday, March 20.
Starring Steve Steen and adapted and directed by Paul Hodson, it follows Bryson on one last trip around Britain before returning to the USA.
For seven weeks he travelled from Dover to John O'Groats, using public transport, taking in Ludlow, Weston-Super-Mare and Milton Keynes among other places.
Bryson takes on such British subjects as cricket, cups of tea, warm beer, beans on toast and fish and chips.
He meets 68 characters along the way including Mrs Smegma the Dover landlady, the Welsh train enthusiast and the Vodaphone man on a delayed train.
During the course of his journey he realises what he loves about the country he lived in for twenty years.
Steve Steen, a regular on TV's Whose Line is it Anyway, starred in Paul Merton's The Suicide Dog and Paul Hodson's recent work includes the stage adaptation of Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby.
Tickets cost £12 and £10 on 01684 892277.
