THE absence of several key players did not stop Wyre Forest Brintons completing a West Midlands League Division One South double over Leominster Town with a 4-3 victory.
But Leominster took an early sixth-minute lead at home through Daniel Stack and added another when poor defending let in Adam Peters.
Forest Brintons were having more of the play with both Andy Oakes and new signing Lee Hughes close to reducing the deficit.
Robert Dew saw his rasping shot turned over the bar by John Speke in the home goal before Forest Brintons reduced the arrears just before half-time.
Keeper Simon Wills' long kick by-passed the defence and Lee Jordan slipped the ball past Speke.
Oakes put Forest Brintons level after the break from 20 yards following a pass from Dew.
But Leominster leapt ahead in an end-to-end clash with Ben Price grabbing their third goal.
Oakes was on the spot to equalise once more and then Andrew Bayliss secured their ninth league victory with the winning goal around 20 minutes from the end.
Dew saw a late penalty saved by the keeper after Oakes was brought down.
Hughes and John Griffin made good debuts in the much-changed Forest Brintons side who are now three points away from the top five.
Their players are asked to meet at the Hare and Hounds pub at 5.45pm for next Wednesday's visit to Ledbury Town Reserves.
