Evesham Ladies 1,
Malvern 1
UNITED showed just how much they have improved this season when they held physical and experienced opponents to a draw on Sunday.
Malvern had already inflicted three heavy defeats on the Robins in various competitions this season but they defended superbly although they found it difficult to get the ball into their opponents' half against the first half elements.
Malvern took the lead after 28 minutes but, with the wind and slope in their favour after the break, Evesham took control .
Lisa Tustin and Charlotte Benson-Wilson spurned decent chances, while Nicky Bonds had a shot well saved.
Substitute Lola Hughes the fired wide before a great cross from Benson-Wilson was nodded on by Tustin but no one could take advantage.
Charlene McCloughlin's shot then appeared to be heading for the net until a foot appeared to deflect the ball wide for a corner.
Tustin forced another save from the keeper before the equaliser finally arrived after 74 minutes.
Benson-Wilson won a tackle on halfway and the ball ran to Bond whose through ball split the Malvern defence for Tustin to run on and shoot past the advancing goalkeeper.
Evesham entertain Wor-cester City Ladies at Offen-ham on Sunday (2pm) when they will complete their series of matches in the Wyvern Associates League Cup.
