UNITED moved to the top of the Mercian league after a hard-fought victory over the League Cup finalists.
Ben Bearcroft was again the match winner with both goals.
After five minutes the Welland keeper dropped a cross from Liam Scrivens and Bearcroft netted close-in.
The rest of the first half was very evenly balanced, with few chances on either side.
Welland snatched a deserved equaliser after United failed to clear from a corner.
Evesham continued to push for the winner and, after a couple of near misses, were finally rewarded when Bearcroft scored his second with a shot from the edge of the area.
