PERSHORE 1sts 5 ASTON

THE scoreline flattered Pershore following a disjointed performance in their penultimate DTZ League match of the season.
They started confidently and created several chances which they failed to convert, Dale-Smith in particular being a major culprit.
Eventually they converted a short corner, but were then put under pressure and were lucky to be 1-0 up a half-time.
Aston continued to worry the home defence and it was not until mid-way through the second half that Dale-Smith got his second, this time firing home from the edge of the circle.
Whiting completed a hat-trick in the final ten minutes, including one very well-worked short corner move.
Pershore are now very close to clinching promotion to the West Midlands first division after one season in the lower reaches.
They now need to avoid losing to Atherstone Adders next week to become champions.
