SOLIHULL enjoyed a double boost at the weekend - without kicking a ball.
The Powergen North Midlands One leaders saw title rivals Worcester Wanderers slip to a surprise defeat at neighbours Woodrush.
And the Portway tenants breezed into the quarter finals of the North Midlands Shield after North Midlands Three underdogs Harborne cried off to give Solihull a bye.
Worcester's slip is doubly ironic after Woodrush complained about the postponement of their league fixture against Solihull a fortnight ago.
League secretary John McNally is still dealing with Woodrush's complaint but Solihull vice captain Neil Perry fanned the flames after seeing the weekend result.
Veyseyans are one of only two sides to beat the league leaders this season and Solihull are out to avenge that opening day reverse (ko 2.30pm).
Perry's comments are sure to provide motivation for near neighbours Redditch, who they face on the last day of the season, and could be fighting for their lives, and Woodrush with their planned league match still outstanding.
Solihull, who are chasing their third successive promotion, expect to be unchanged for the weekend tester.
