A CALL has gone out for stallholders to book their pitch now for this year's Kidderminster carnival.
Organisers hope to attract scores of stalls and sideshows to entertain the crowds at the Brinton Park showground on Saturday, June 21.
Chairman Colin Hill said the event offered charities and voluntary groups a great opportunity to raise money for their causes and to promote themselves.
"With average turnouts of around 10,000 it also offers a good amount of potential trade for commercial organisations," he added.
Commercial enterprises are charged £17.50 for a 15ft pitch while charities and voluntary groups pay £10.
Stallholders wishing to give out information only can have a pitch free of charge.
The carnival committee is also hoping to boost the number of entries in this year's street parade, which will herald the start of the carnival.
Prize money of £75 will be awarded to each winner in the categories of best sports, social club or pub float; best youth organisation; best commercial and best charity float.
There will also be a prize of £30 for the best trolley float and £20 for the best vintage/classic vehicle.
The best decorated pedestrian adult will be awarded £20 and the best decorated pedestrian children's entry will receive £15.
There is a £10 entry fee for all floats, but pedestrians, trolley floats, vintage cars and motorbikes can join in the fun free of charge.
Anyone interested in taking part in the parade or having a stall at Brinton Park should contact Mr Hill on 01562 751634.
