A WYRE Forest bus company has denied claims that it has introduced an "extra" charge for pensioners travelling to Kidderminster town centre.
Councillor Fran Oborski claimed a pensioner travelling to the town centre from Offmore had been told she would have to buy a new ticket if she wanted to travel an extra stop to the Town Hall instead of getting off at the new bus station.
But First bus company spokesman Dave Maciejewski denied any new charge had been introduced and said pensioners were entitled to stay aboard the "cross town" buses and get dropped off beyond the bus station if they wished.
"It is possible that because we have new ticketing machines an error was made on one occasion but there has been no change and there is no extra charge."
