TWO Kidderminster post offices will definitely close next month.
The Bewdley Road office will shut on Saturday, April 12 while the Broadwaters branch in Stourbridge Road will call it a day on Thursday, April 24.
Post Office head of area Paul Maisey said the decisions had been made following public consultation - even though more than 750 people signed a petition calling for the Bewdley Road service to be retained.
This was much to the chagrin of sub-postmaster Tony Baldwin, who said he could not afford to keep the post office running.
Mr Maisey confirmed: "The harsh reality is that many urban offices are struggling to survive because there are too many branches for the amount of business."
People who use the Bewdley Road office are being advised to travelto Crown House in the Bull Ring while Broadwaters customers' nearest branch is in Hurcott Road.
