IT was a case of "doubles" all round at Stratford's annual Irish Day on Monday.
Jockey Richard Johnson landed two winners on board favourites Carnoustie and Jakari - a perfect boost ahead of the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival.
Trainer Richard Lee landed a 92/1 double as Master of Illusion and Mythical King foiled the chances of the favourites leading a whitewash at Luddington Road.
The former a 9-2 second favourite, left 2-1 shot Keltic Heritage in second place, while Mythical King ruled in a two-mile Handicap Hurdle.
The afternoon's penultimate race was a real family affair as Splash and Dash prevailed at 4-6 favourite in the Hunter Chase, trained by Sarah Hickman and steered to the post by husband Andrew.
Smurfit Champion Hurdle hopeful, Intersky Falcon's jockey, Liam Cooper warmed up for his Cheltenham challenge with victory in the opener on Jonjo O'Neill's East Tycoon - a race that saw a fabulous run by 66-1 shot Pardini trained by Milton Harris at Paxford.
A veteran of many Cheltenham chases, Norman Williamson, rounded off a superb afternoon's entertainment for the big crowd with victory on Tighten Your Belt in the Foxhunter at Snitterfield Bumper.
Another Harris-trained horse, Here Comes Stanley finished eighth at 66-1.
Johnson's win on Carnoustie was Adlestrop trainer Richard Phillips' sole success in a race that saw Masshoor, trained by Barbara Waring at Welford finish sixth.
