HIGH Flying Evesham Eagles soared to a 3-2 victory in a marathon match with SDM Outlaws.
Alan Chung beat both Sam Byrd and Ollie Smith in the deciding set of the H2O Plumbing and Heating Division 3A clash in the Evesham and District Association but the two Outlaws clipped the wings of the Eagles' Zak Wilson again in five sets to level the match.
Not to be outdone, the doubles also went to five sets with the Eagles flying high after a 5-11, 11-8, 11-9, 10/-12, 11-9 success.
St Peters lost for the first time this year when they went down 3-2 to Evesham Emperors. Rob Sinderberry led the way with two singles wins including a 10-12, 8-11, 11-7, 14-12, 11-4 victory over Graham Kinch.
Freddie Beswick of Littleton Bulldogs had a bad night against clubmates Blades when he lost to sister Stephanie and Leanne Sully.
He did have the last laugh, however, when he took the doubles with Adrian Witts that, added to Witts' two singles wins, guaranteed a 3-2 victory.
James Crenan from SDM Supernovas overcame both Faizi Freemantle and Dan Blackman but still finished on the losing side as the two Wyre Predators beat Chris Wilson and together won the doubles to take the match 3-2.
SDM Spinners and Littleton Rock and Rollers both recorded 5-0 victories over Evesham Dynamos and SDM Firebolts respectively.
In Division 3B, Lauren Orme (Blackminster Bees) stung Evesham Swans' Anita Moffat 5-11, 12-10, 12-10, 11-8 but the loser hit back to beat Amy Lewis and, alongside Melanie Wilson, won her two singles and together with Moffat the doubles as the Swans floated home 4-1.
Ethan Cronin and Sam Thompson of Blackminster Bats and Craig Pitcher and Jamie Brown (Wyre Snips) both had 4-1 wins over Littleton Monkeys and Evesham Swifts respectively.
Evesham Swallows' Vicki Rigg and Liam Wilson tamed Littleton Leopards 5-0, while Matt Ross and Jamie Anderson shot Blackminster Bullets to a 5-0 victory over SDM Lionesses.
Matt Goode and David Targett ploughed Littleton Bulldozers to a 5-0 victory over SDM Ravens.
