SEVEN out of seven for Worcestershire County players who defeated second place Cornwall 21-15 in the British Darts Organisation Inter-Counties League.

The ladies B side drew 3-3 with Tracey Bishop coming through a tough opening game to win 3-2.

Debbie Doohan won 3-1, while there was another match award for Chris Glover who won 3-0 with an average of 19.03.

The men's B opened with a matchwinning performance by Steve Watton for a 3-1 win and an average of 24.21.

The next three games ended in wins for Simon Webb (average 22.36), Mark Bayliss (24.14), and Rob Heming (21.27).

Cornwall then won the following five games to give them a one game advantage.

Ray Bishop then levelled the match followed by Paul Lewis who hit back- to-back 180s to put the men's B in front.

Tim Green's 3-1 success capped a 7-5 win that keeps the B team at the top of their table.

With a 4-2 win the ladies A also stay at the top of their table. Games were won by Janet Hill (average 19.05), Beaty Powell (18.32), Jackie Jenkins (17.39), and Rachael Dixon with a match award average of 20.04.

With the overall score standing at 14-10 to Worcestershire it was up to the men's A team to maintain the pressure to win the county's toughest match of the season.

There were wins for Nick Fulwell, Kevin James, Mark Jones, and Tony Randell before Terry Jenkins sealed victory for Worcestershire with an award winning average of 31.98.

There were further wins for Steve Webb and Paul Brookes in a 7-5 match triumph.

With two matches still to play this season, Worcestershire look on target for promotion.

Their next opponents in April are Bedfordshire at home.
