POLICE have named the man killed in a road accident in Claines on Wednesday.
Delton Roy Horner, aged 32, from West Pathway, Harbourne, Birmingham, died when his Ford Escort collided with a concrete road sign on the A449 at the turning for Blackpole, Worcester, at 8.05am.
Meanwhile, business executive John Bowden, who was at the scene minutes after the crash, has praised two off-duty firefighters who attempted to save Mr Horner's life.
Mr Bowden, who was travelling home from Birmingham to Worcester, also stopped to see if he could help.
Professionalism
He told the Worcester Evening News how impressed he was with the firefighters' professionalism, and how calm they were as they gave him instructions.
"I do not know their names," said Mr Bowden, " but I have written a letter to the chief fire officer of Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade about their actions."
