WINE from Tiltridge Vineyard in Upton will grace French tables as part of a promotion of British food and drink.
Bottles of the vineyard's Huxelrebe 2000 were shipped to an international real estate event in Cannes last week by regional food group Heart of England Fine Foods, of which Tiltridge is a member.
Sandy Parker, co-owner of the vineyard, said it was unusual for British wine to go to France, as it was usually the other way round.
"I hope it went down well," she said.
"We get plenty of visitors who come and take wine abroad and we get a smattering of foreign visitors who are amazed to find England can produce decent wines."
Although Mrs Barker said she did not expect trade to dramatically increase as a result of the event, she said it was a good public relations exercise.
