WITH response to the lack of suitable space for the relocation of the Court Road and Avenue Road surgeries in Barnards Green, may I suggest that MHDC be bold and plan for a radical development in the Green.
What about a new one-way road at the back of the shops on the south side of Barnards Green Road, starting at the east end of the shops and coming out at the Barnards Green island? The present Barnards Green Road being made one way from the island to the east end of the new road:
There would be a number of advantages of this scheme.
1. New premises/surgeries etc could be built on the side of the new road and parking provided.
2. Parking could be improved in Barnards Green Road.
3. The scheme would tidy up what is a very shambolic area.
4. The new surgeries would be much more convenient for people living in the Barnards Green area rather than having to get to those proposed on Townsend Way.
