A BEN Ratcliffe brace, one goal either side of half-time, put Anchor Falcons well on their way to a deserved victory at Little Perdiswell on Sunday in this Division Four encounter.

RM DEARS LEAP 0, ANCHOR FALCONS 3

Following a 3-3 draw the previous Sunday against the same opposition, The Falcons were determined not to make the same mistakes that preceded a great second half comeback last week. They were quick out of the blocks with a strong wind behind them. Both Ratcliffe and Park tested the home keeper, and a long shot from Mark Berry appeared to be dipping under the cross bar before an excellent push over by the keeper.

Anchor broke the deadlock on 35 minutes when Ratcliffe was on hand to profit from a defensive mix-up to coolly plant the ball past the on-rushing keeper.

After the break the Falcons scored immediately from the kick off. Mark Berry fed Wilkins and his cross was headed home by Ratcliffe for surely the fastest goal at the start of a half in the club's history.

Paul Park's fourth goal in four games sealed the win mid-way through the second half.

Dears Leap were showing little up front although that was largely due to a solid defensive showing marshalled well by Mike Berry and supported well by man of the match Andy Fletcher.

This Sunday the Falcons entertain Claines at Dukes Meadow. Players meet 9.45am prompt.
