TONY Blair's Government is continuing with the closures of local post offices.

Even though the banks are frequently closing their smaller branches, Blair & Co are suggesting pensioners and the less fortunate should open bank accounts as one of the three methods of getting their money.

What they don't explain too clearly is that if the pensioners and less fortunate do this they will have to wait for at least four or possibly five weeks to receive their first payment.

Has anyone in this obviously out-of-touch government thought how these people are going to pay bills and buy food without any income for at least four weeks?
