POLICE are warning the public about a
conwoman who claims she is raising money for cancer victims through a sponsored run.
The group she claims she is supporting says it has no knowledge of her.
The woman is visiting homes and telling people that she is doing a sponsored run with mothers from Bargates Nursery, Leominster, in order to collect money for a cancer charity.
Herefordshire police are keen to hear from anyone who has spoken to the woman, especially anyone who has given her money.
"In a lot of instances the amount of money being handed over has been small, but this money could be going to genuine charities," said PC Tracey Lewis at Leominster police station.
Anyone with any information is asked to call PC Lewis on 08457 444888 or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
