YOUNGSTERS are hoping their green-fingered approach to their area will win a grant to develop a garden.
The teenagers, aged 12 to 17, from youth group Streets Ahead, want to build a garden at the back of the youth building in Gresham Road, Dines Green, Worcester.
Some of the youngsters live in flats, and hope the new garden will give them a chance to hold barbecues and do their own gardening.
Sian Gray, a youth development worker from Streets Ahead, said a team of 12 youngsters would be taking part in the garden project which involved planning the garden, designing it and applying for grants.
"Most live in flats and the garden would give them a barbecue to use and a pond to look at," she said. "We aim to have sent the grant applications off within the six weeks and to do it during the summer holidays."
