PUPILS aged four to nine at Defford-cum-Besford First School enjoyed experimenting with clothes and hair in aid of a good cause.

The 58 children, including Laura Denning (right) had spiked hair, coloured hair and enjoyed dressed in way-out fashions to raise money for Comic Relief on Friday.

"The children loved dressing up," said Janet Youd, a senior teacher at the school, near Pershore.

"We've only got three classes in the school and we'd raised just over £40 by 4pm.

"It was very successful and the children enjoyed it.

"It's nice to raise cash towards a good cause."

FACTORY workers from Hydrowater Motor Studios found themselves in the red when they decided to spray their hair for Comic Relief.

Around 60 workers at the factory in Williamson Road, Worcester, were drumming up funds for Red Nose Day.

RED nose balloons were decorated with woolly hair and red noses by two to four-year- olds from Bundles of Fun.

Up to 23 youngsters, sported wacky hairstyles and made red nose biscuits in aid of Red Nose Day yesterday.

"It went very well," Nicole Marshall, manager of Bundles of Fun in Alexander Road, Worcester.

"We'd raised £31 at 4pm and we are still counting."

SNAKES and ladders were on the menu at The Three Pears Beefeater in Warndon, when staff and punters played the game for Comic Relief.

Staff at the pub dressed up with big hair, sprayed their hair red and wore Comic Relief T-shirts at the Worcester pub on Friday.

"Punters took part in a raffle where they picked a straw and they could win anything from a drink to 25 per cent off a meal here," said Val Edwards, manager of the pub.

"We've raised so far £551 for Comic Relief.

"I would like to say thank you to everyone who took part - every one did brilliantly."
