FIVE-STAR Stourport Swifts swept aside visitors Rocester with a Dr Martens Western Division display that had manager Dave Titterton looking forward to the new campaign.

"We are going to finish the season on a high and take that confidence into next season," the Walshes Meadow boss said after he watched his side romp home 5-0, including a four-goal second half blast.

"We have a lot more players in form at the moment and have a number of influential players back in the side.

"It would have been interesting to see what we could have achieved if we had had players fit throughout the season," Titterton lamented.

Richard Ball gave Swifts the perfect start with a goal in the opening minute, slotting the ball past visiting keeper Phil McGing.

Simon Marsh doubled the lead midway through the second half but the home side had to wait until the final five minutes before putting the result beyond doubt.

Rocester had Steve Oldacre sent off and Swifts made their extra man count with substitute Steve Hawkes hitting a third on his debut before Ball completed his hat-trick with a double in the final three minutes.

Ball was on trial with Nationwide Conference side Yeovil Town earlier in the season and his manager believes the striker can go all the way.

"Richard will be as good as he wants to be," Titterton said after the game.

"He missed a number of chances against Cirencester last week but the sign of a good striker is that they can bounce back and take their chances and Richard has done that."
