WORCESTERSHIRE'S John Bickerton and David Park of Hereford both cashed in with sparkling finishes to the Qatar Masters in Dohar yesterday.
Park finished in seventh place after a final round two-under-par 70 gave him a tournament total of 282 -- six under par. It was a case of what might have been for Park who fired six birdies in his final round, but this was tempered by four bogeys, three of which came in the final six holes.
It was similar story for Droitwich's Bickerton who could only manage a par 72 in his final round for joint eighth place. His 72 inluded five birdies, but these were matched by bogeys.
Both golfer picked up healthy cheques, however. Park pocketed almost £28,000 and Bickerton nearly £21,000.
Darren Fichardt took the title, beating fellow South African James Kingston with a birdie four at the first play-off hole.
It was Fichardt's second European tour title -- although neither has come anywhere near Europe. The other was in Brazil two years ago.
