BROMSGROVE Hockey Club Men's First XI ensured their West Midlands division one survival with a 3-2 victory over Barlaston in the final game of the season.
Needing a win to guarantee division one status, Julian Court's side were made to sweat after seeing two leads wiped out.
Mark Robinson put Bromsgrove in front after five minutes but the visitors came back into the game and equalised from a short corner for 1-1 at half time.
After the break Bromsgrove pushed forward and were rewarded when Steve Clarke's reverse stick shot was half saved and Dave Bower pushed the ball into the net.
But Barlaston came back and equalised for the second time.
Despite being reduced to ten men when Matt Russell was sin-binned, the hosts took control of the game again and took the lead for the third time through Nick Frizzell.
This time Barlaston could not find a way back.
