A MAN has been arrested in connection with a robbery at McDonald's in Oakenshaw on Monday at about 10pm.
Three men walked into the office part of the restaurant and demanded money from the manager. They then stole a quantity of cash and walked out.
On the way to deal with the report, police officers spotted a car containing three men matching the description of the offenders.
The car failed to stop for the officers who followed it through Birmingham to the junction of Brunswick Road and Brunswick Gardens in Handsworth.
Three men got out of the car and ran away. One of the men was arrested on suspicion of robbery and a quantity of cash was also recovered.
Forensic examinations have been carried out at McDonald's and a number of witnesses to the incident, including staff and customers, have been spoken to.
Officers are also viewing CCTV tapes.
DS Mark Glazzard said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have been using the drive-through part of the restaurant or saw the two men run away from the car in Handsworth to call me on 08457 444888."
