PLANS which could see supermarkets destroying independent pharmacists' trade were discussed when MP and health minister Jacqui Smith met town pharmacists.
The Government is considering a report from the Office of Fair Trading recommending lifting restrictions on the siting of pharmacies.
This has left pharmacists fearing for their future and these concerns were voiced to Ms Smith on Friday.
The government will announce its findings later in the Spring.
