A RAIL passenger who complained about the 'insulting' £1 compensation she received after a traumatic train journey from Birmingham may be entitled to more compensation.
Councillor Stewart Stacey, vice-chairman of West Midlands Passenger Transport Authority, also called Centro, wrote to the Advertiser following our story about Rita Parks in February.
Mrs Parks, 48, of Nine Days Lane, was left stranded on a cold and foggy night before Christmas at Barnt Green station after passengers were told to disembark.
She eventually called her husband to pick her up.
After complaining, she was sent a £1 travel voucher as compensation from Central Trains, which runs the Cross City Line.
Mr Parks said £1 vouchers as compensation only applied in the Centro region.
But he added: "Centro services on the Cross City Line cease after Longbridge and the charter states that if you are delayed more than 30 minutes in other areas (ie Barnt Green and Redditch) you are normally given vouchers to the value of 50 per cent of the price paid for that journey."
Mrs Parks said she would now approach Central Trains.
