I READ differing estimates as to how much Gordon Brown is prepared to commit to the war with Iraq.
It varies from £1.8bn to "whatever it takes." Where does this money come from? Is it from increased taxation revenue, from higher price petrol sales or like Turkey, have we been promised financial assistance - I doubt it!
It must therefore derive from some contingency reserve. So why can this reserve not be used to fund additional police resources - which I think is everyone's priority?
