ENTHUSIASTIC town residents donned their red noses, dressed up and dug deep into their pockets to raise cash for Comic Relief last Friday.
Tiny tots from Home Farm Day Nursery in Birmingham Road, Lydiate Ash, raised £200 when they held a bad hair day while pupils at St John's Middle School, in Watt Close, managed to break their own record and raise more than £1,000 for the charity.
The children raised the money by holding a non-uniform day and sponsored teachers to wear wigs for the event.
Bromsgrove-based hairdresser, Saks, within the David Lloyd Centre, in Slideslow Drive, also raised over £300.
Salon spokeswoman Theresa Doherty said: "Everyone had a wonderful time and the staff and customers were very generous.
"The staff gave up their tips, we had a raffle and everyone was in fancy dress."
The grand total is yet to be confirmed but it has already proved to be a record-breaking year for Comic Relief.
