MOVES are afoot to slash the speed limit at an accident blackspot.
Proposals to cut the 50mph limit to 40mph, along a stretch of the B4090 at Hanbury Wharf, were considered by Droitwich Spa town council last week.
Planning committee chairman, Cllr Don Lawley (Con - Droit.South), said: "In the past there have been a lot of accidents there, some fatal, and this proposal is well worth looking into."
Town Mayor Terry Spencer (Con - Droit.Central) said the bridge near the Eagle and Sun pub had become increasingly busy and more and more large lorries were travelling in that area.
The councillors' comments will be sent to Worcestershire County Council highways chiefs.
