A DROITWICH Spa man discovered there was no gain without pain when he had his chest waxed for charity.
Alliance and Leicester branch manager Matt Wright, 26, helped raise a total of £105 for Comic Relief by the hair-raising stunt last Friday.
Branch customer advisor Pauline Johnson-Jones, who ripped the wax-covered strips from Matt's chest, said: "He is a brilliant boss, but this was our chance to have a go at the management for a good cause.
"The whole day was really good fun, we generally badgered customers for donations."
Alliance and Leicester's head office will now match the cash collected by the Victoria Square branch.
Scores of other residents also painted the Spa red for Comic Relief.
Brave Wychbold woman, Sarah Hill hit the bottle and died her hair bright red, raising £128. The 31-year-old was sponsored by hosts of town companies including WH Smith, Lloyds TSB and Blue Door Taxis.
"A big thank-you to everyone who supported me, including businesses, family, friends and neighbours," said the De Wyche Road resident.
Droitwich women, Linda Gledhill and Lyn O'Hara were sponsored to dress as red devils and hit the town by Ormerod Rutter Chartered Accountants, in Kidderminster Road and raised £64.
En-route they visited Safeway and the fire station.
Three residents of Herriotts Court, sheltered accommodation, took to the streets to sell kisses and complete other daring challenges.
They raised £56 and the cash still rolling in.
